We love how we have been getting so many visitors!
Today Corrie came over with Steven. He slept most of the time and she didn’t stay as long, but once he woke up, he was bright eyed and bushy tailed.
One of the former tenants came by to pick up her package.
One of the bridesmaids of another of the former tenants came by to pick up another package. (2 of the 3 tenants are getting married.)
And then Dan Britts (executive pastor) and his wife Sue came by and surprised us with homemade pasta salad and strawberries – just enough for dinner! Totally delicious and so nice of them to stop by. Wow. Albert and I are totally flabbergasted that a pastor on staff has stopped by every day we have been here – bearing food! We have totally been blown away.
It’s a bit funny that everyone seems to know each other. Corrie knew one of the former tenants, and Dan Britts knew the bridesmaid – people seemed to time their visits so that two different parties arrived and they happened to know each other!
Meanwhile, packing is taking its toll. Daniel’s hands are all shredded and raw from carrying boxes. My hands are dry and tender as well. Albert’s back hurts. Our feet all hurt from walking and hauling and unpacking all day. And we are tired.
But the house is starting to feel more like a home and we are very thankful to be here – it’s a nice, cozy place! Once we get rid of all these boxes, it will be even better! I can’t believe I start work in 2 days. Eek!
We unloaded boxes in my new office. Wow, it is a big office. It’s like twice as big as any of my previous offices – probably the biggest office I have ever had! The great thing is that it is so big that we can bring the extra shelves and silk plants in the garage that there is no room for in our house. That’s perfect!
