Well this is a bit odd for me to post a blog in the morning, but since I have an evening meeting tonight, I’m going in to work a little later (it’s 9:39 am).
This was a relaxing weekend.
Saturday I tried not to do “work” on the computer – i.e. work on church stuff. So I did some designing for other stuff (though did work on the party logo).
We were going to go over to Corrie’s house to visit and bring Creme Brulee, but the solar-oven cooked version didn’t work too well and I ended up feeling not well (nauseous and stomach ache) so we stayed home. Turns out my not feeling well was due to over-tiredness. I took two naps on the sofa – a two-hour one in the afternoon, and dozed off in the evening again. I slept 6 hours straight that night, and dozed off a little bit more, and Sunday felt physically a lot better.
But I can tell my lack of good, undisturbed sleep is catching up with me, as I’m starting to get that feeling “I don’t want to go to work,” which I know is due to tiredness, because I love my job! So my mind tells me I love my job and am excited to work on stuff but my body just tells me I am very, very tired.
Well, I got feedback from a guy that my party logo was a bit “frou-frou” and feminine (which I appreciated, since, as a woman, I have no idea what a guy would like!), so I redid it. Albert said he thought this was better, but I’m waiting back for more feedback. I asked him what makes a logo “frou-frou” and he wasn’t sure. Any opinions?
This weekend I also read, Dead Heat by Joel Rosenberg, Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, and Castle in the Air by the same person.
Spent a bit of time practicing drums too. Played drums and piano during the church services – what a blast! First time I played live with a metronome. I was happy to stay on, but transitions were a bit rough – next time I’m going to program tempos into my drum machine so I don’t have to fiddle with that annoying knob!
Finished Albert’s website.
Had some new friends from the church over for dinner – another blast!
Bills, chores, dishes and fun stuff like that.
Hung our Thomas Kinkade paintings on the wall – our living room now looks like a living room! Well, Albert did most of the hanging – I helped him!
Went bike riding with the family Saturday morning and took Megan to what we call “Hobbiton” part of Davis – all the streets are from Lord of the Rings. We rode about an hour.
Guess that’s a bit productive for two days!
