New blog — Design Arts Today

I’m happy to announce a new blog I’ve started! (Yes, yet another blog.) Design Arts Today is a blog that was created to help inspire, equip, and develop those interested in growing in their visual and artistic abilities.

Yes, I know all you regular readers of my blog out there are thinking, “Another blog? Doesn’t Angela already have enough blogs?

Well… er… yes, to be blunt. But that’s another topic for another time.

Here’s why I’m starting this blog:

  1. I have friends who regularly ask me how to do things on software. They are learning the ropes on Adobe applications. I figure if I can help them, I can probably help others out there who might wonder how to do things.
  2. I am a designer at heart. I love beauty and design and visual arts of all kinds. This blog allows me to explore and post interesting and inspiring things I find.
  3. I am on a leave of absence right from my job in ministry right now, which limits my ability to write ministry-related posts, which are the content of some of my other blogs. I need an outlet for writing and creativity.
  4. I didn’t want to clutter my angelayee.com site up with software skills and links to other people’s artistic projects. Many of my readers are family and friends who don’t even use Photoshop or Illustrator. They would probably fall asleep.

So check out designartstoday.com and subscribe to it if you want to improve in your design arts skills!

It’s only got a few entries, since I just started, but I posted some of my older entries from angelayee.com in the related categories.

P.S. I am simplifying somewhat by discontinuing my blog Faith Action Steps. I’ve moved the posts over to this site instead.

P.P.S. For those of you wondering, “Hey, aren’t you on leave, so why are you doing work?” This is not work, this is fun! (I’m sure my friends think I must be weird to write blogs about design and software for fun!) It’s actually a fantastic outlet for me as writing is very therapeutic.
