Visual dreams

I don’t know if it is because I am creative person or what, but I have always had vivid dreams since I was a child. They have always been in color and I remember many details.

As I got older it was harder to remember this stuff, and I didn’t sleep well or didn’t sleep enough and didn’t have that many dreams. But now that I am on leave, I have multiple dreams every night and started writing them down in my journal.

What I discovered is… I sure dream a lot about architecture and decor! I suppose this is how a dream journal of a graphic designer would look like… pictures!

Like the other day I dreamed I was visiting a big, beautiful house. As I was walking around, I was thinking, “I better walk around again and remember all these details so I can write them down when I wake up.” But by the second time I walked around, I noticed some details had changed. Dreams have a way of doing that.

However, i did catch enough details to make a floor plan.

And I remembered what it looked like when you first come in the front entrance.

There was also a plant/pond oasis in the middle of the house.

Sometimes I even remember the street layout where I was.

Or this dream had a wall I was trying to figure out how to climb.

It’s so interesting that I can draw so many of the settings that my dreams are in. No wonder I find decor and architecture so interesting.

Some medication the doctor gave me is really messing up my sleep. I wake up every 2 hours or so. Last night I woke up four times. Usually I am dreaming when I wake up. So last night I dreamed that I had a computer monitor that was very uncooperative and kept slumping over or drooping.

Albert said, “It’s like Salvador Dali!”

I woke up thinking, “Whoa, what a weird dream. It’s like I’m on drugs or something.” Then I thought, “Wait, I AM on drugs!”

I tell my family my bizarre dreams (because there are many others). They find them quite amusing.

Albert said, “Well, Sweetie, you are certainly unique and one of a kind!”

I’m amazed that you can remember your dreams so well. By the time I wake up, I’ve usually forgotten most of my dream.
