I was trying to think of a good title that would categorize the pictures I have below. I could have said “baked food”… but one is only semi-baked. Or I could have said “pie food.” But some are not pies. So I guess “round food” best fits the bill.
This summer I have eaten some really delicious circular-shaped food.
A kind lady from church brought over a fresh peach pie. Wow! It was some of the best peach pie I have ever eaten, if not THE best. I could have eaten that whole pie single-handedly.
Albert has been into making fresh bread. It is so good. He has made French bread and herbed bread and naan bread (Indian) and garlic bread and onion bread. Nom nom nom. There is just nothing like piping hot bread out of the oven.
Today I had lunch with friends, and Peter made an amazing quiche. (I am so impressed at how this young man can cook!) It was so delicious! I am a crust person and saved the crust for last. The crust was so good that if I weren’t concerned about being rude I could have picked off all the crust off that thing and eaten it myself.
The filling was good too. But I’m the type of person who steals pie crusts off my husband’s plate because that’s my favorite part.
I made the dessert. It was a butter, flour and almond crust, with a layer of sweetened cream cheese, chocolate pudding, and cool whip on top. It was really yummy. Albert couldn’t believe I bought whole milk for the pudding. He went home and announced to the kids, “Mommy bought whole milk at the store!” Daniel and Megan gasped and said, “Nooooooo!!!!”
Ohhhhh yes … you can’t have chocolate pudding without whole milk. The world just doesn’t run right otherwise.
I made up for it by using light cream cheese and light Cool Whip. So that cancelled out all the fat in the whole milk.
I guess my family and I better stop eating all this round food, or we will end up round ourselves!
