As I mentioned in my previous post, I love being on a team with others who are gifted in different ways. Here are two examples of what happened during the Ministry Directors’ retreat.
Angela: Eek! A spider! It’s just hanging in the air and I almost stuck my head into it! It’s a big orange-red ugly spider!!!!!! Ewwwww!!!!!!!!
Matt: You don’t like spiders?
Angela: I hate spiders.
Matt: Okay. (Takes off his slippers. Whack! End of spider.)
When it comes to buying something, Glen and I have very different approaches. On our team pit stop at Starbucks…
Angela: Should I get a chai or not get a chai? If I get a chai now, then tonight when Albert and I go to Starbucks and I won’t get a chai then, but maybe that is good because then I won’t have caffeine at night and I should be able to sleep better, so I can get one now, but if I get one now then when I go home I will not be able to take a nap and then I will be really tired for our date and that is not good, but maybe that is good because then I can fall asleep because I didn’t have caffeine, but maybe that is bad because if I don’t take a nap today I will be deprived of sleep tomorrow and it is my first day in the office and I will be really tired, but maybe if I go to sleep earlier I will get a lot of sleep and I won’t be tired tomorrow so it is good I don’t drink a chai now because it will mess up my nap. I think I am getting a headache and I still don’t know whether to get a chai or not.
Glen: It’s bad for you to drink caffeine at night. Get one now.
Ahhh… I love competent team mates.
