My church, University Covenant Church, has a brand new intern program this year, called Protege. We have 7 interns who are experiencing meaningful ministry, intentional community, and intensive discipleship. Oh, and a bit of hazing too…
Keith is helping Jamie, our senior pastor, with sermon-related tasks, such as research, support, PowerPoint. He’s learning all the ins and outs of preparing sermons for Sunday mornings.
Zach is helping with our pastoral care ministries. He helps those who are hurting and encourages the discouraged.
Sabrina is an awesome coordinator. I get to work with her in planning events. She also helps Glen out with children’s ministry programs.
Liz is our junior high intern and is super high energy. Kyle, our junior high director, totally loves having her on the team.
Jenny is doing a mix of international ministries and creative arts. She helped on our last stage design and did a great job.
Peter is our wonderful AV/Tech director but is also interning under information technologies. If we have a tech question, he will either answer it for us or go find the answer.
Erica is the college intern. She is whipping the whole college ministry into shape and keeping our big-picture college pastor, Matt, super organized.
These Proteges are really wonderful and a total blessing to our ministry!
And, thankfully, they have a good sense of humor to put up with all the pranks that go on around our office…
