Morning surprise

Today when Albert walked out the door, he was greeted by an unusual object.
He came in and said, “There is a large purple mushroom in front of our house.”
Who could have done that?
There were three people in charge of taking down our stage set where this was used as a background tree:
- Me
- Peter, who is out of town
- and Glen
So I wonder who did this?
I confronted the culprit at church today, who confessed on the spot. The other day when we were cleaning up, I told Daniel to take this exact tree out to the dumping pile. After we left, the prankster snuck the tree into a side room and locked it in the dark.
Last night, he and his daughter put it on top of their van, both of them holding either side down from both windows. It was blustering wind so he had to drive 2 miles and hour. It took 10 minutes to get from the church to our house. (Our house is 2 blocks from church.)
The spirit of prankishness is alive and well in Davis.

I am deeply impressed! Not only is this blog chock-full of pleasing and delightful stories from real life, but it is highly educational. Never in all my years have I seen the word, “prankishness” used in a sentence.
P.S. Said “object of prankishness” was actually transported on roof of Nissan sedan. No animals were harmed in the making of this prank, though flecks of styrofoam may have been dislodged during transport.
