Sunday was Father’s Day.
It was the first day that I felt like I was on vacation (a week later!). Our family went to visit another church and afterwards Albert decided he wanted to go to KFC for Father’s Day lunch.
We relaxed the rest of the day and watched How to Train a Dragon (for the nth time). That’s such a great movie.
For the first time in years and years and years, Albert got a Father’s Day present! We’re not much of a present-giving family… but I saw these at Costco and just couldn’t resist.
Angry Birds has become kind of a theme in Albert’s life. First, it was because he loved the game and wanted to use them in his physics class as catapult experiments (here’s the post I wrote on that). Then he got on a magazine cover. You can even see the t-shirt he wore during the tithing rap.
So now he has large versions to put alongside the small versions in his office at work.
Well, at least I think he does. As soon as we got home with them, the kids commandeered them and asked if we could keep them at home instead of letting Albert had them.
I said, “It’s Father’s Day and they are Daddy’s present!”
Sad puppy eyes.
Albert said, “We can keep them home all summer.”
What a nice dad!
