Nov 28, 2013 – For Thanksgiving, our family went down to see our daughter at Azusa Pacific because I forgot to buy a plane ticket and by the time I remembered, tickets were an outrageous $600 each (or something like that). So we decided we would go down and see her!
She had an intense schedule working on lots of film projects. (Nov 2nd photo of her in action at her school.) I really liked the final project she turned in, even though she refuses to show it to the public because it does not meet her standard. 🙂
We drove down on Thanksgiving Day. Apparently it is a very popular travel day, as every rest stop was full of people, some even having lines of people coming out of the door! But we finally got there.
We discovered that Marie Callendar’s is open on Thanskgiving evening, and they serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal. We are not big into traditional food but I must say their dinner was pretty yummy! We totally love their cornbread.
The rest of the food was pretty good too!
The kids were so happy to be reunited.
We asked Megan if she wanted to do anything special, but, nope. She just wanted to hang out with the family. So Friday we hung out and the kids played video games together and we read and ate together and did geeky quiet things. It was so nice to hear once again the giggling of the kids as they played together! It was a sound long missing from our home with Megan gone.
On Saturday we had sushi together — one last meal with Megan before heading home!
It was so nice to be together as a family and much to be thankful for. God is good.
