Design: Facility and Patio Remodeling

Bridges Community Church's worship center is 30 years old and looks its age. Besides the outdated appearance, the outside patio was not functional and was split by a road going through the middle. Angela redesigned the patio and outside of the building to give the staff a vision of the future.

This is a view of the current worship center taken from Building B. The worship center and Building B are seprated by a roadway that makes it hazardous for people who are crossing between the buildings.

Angela drew a scaled drawing (Illustrator) showing the current patio. (Pink building is the worship center in the photo above.)

She removed the road and created a patio area for ministry booths and seating areas. The focal point of the patio is a fountain pool in the middle. (Grey area is where power lines go overhead, which means no permanent structures can be built under there.)

She also redesigned the outside of the building. (Drawing was hand-drawn in Illustrator.) Perspective was hand-rendered too.

She added seating areas and landscaping (trees are clipart).

Angela designed an information kiosk for the patio.

Here's a straight-on view of the kiosk. The grid stands with wheels hold brochures and can be wheeled indoors afterwards.

Behind the scenes: Angela's friend Michael didn't believe she drew the renderings until she showed him the perspective and construction lines in Illustrator!
