Davis bike loop

Last night Albert drove to Roseville to drop Megan off at her friend’s Josephine’s house so she could stay overnight and play.

Daniel was quiet and missed his sister.

However, Rob Shelton came over for dinner and played Super Smash Brothers on the Wii with Daniel. Pretty soon, Albert, Rob and Daniel were all playing and I heard sounds of battle and bashing while I worked on a new website for my friend David Chow.

Megan was still gone this morning, so Albert, Daniel and I went on a bike ride this morning. We went on the Davis Bike Loop, which is a 12-mile loop that goes all around Davis.

Albert said he didn’t think we could make it since this was the first time I was on a bike since like half a year ago! Definitely before Thrive (the conference I was working on)… many months before Thrive, I think! Thrive was end of April.

(Speaking of Thrive, I am so excited because UCC is sending 10 people to Thrive next year! Looks like the website is not totally up, so here’s last year’s conference – the one I worked on.)

Anyway… being an overachiever of course I wanted to go the whole loop!

Davis Bike Loop

So we kept going! At first I wanted Albert to go at a fairly quick pace, but I was out of shape from not having biked in so long, so we slowed down a bit. But we made it the whole way!

Davis is beautiful. The bike loops is mostly off the roads and through parks and past creeks and ponds and lots of trees and flowers. Very nice!

It took us almost 2 hours. We took a couple breaks, mostly because of me. I’m glad we have the opportunity to bike and get more exercise! It’s a great thing to do together as a family! Albert is in much better shape because he bikes every day. He was zipping when we got close to home!

When I came home, my legs felt like jelly, and still feel achy. Not sore as in after you exercise you feel sore, but achy, like parts of my legs feel like they need to be stretched. I’m sure I will be sore tomorrow!
