Mario Kart

Today we got Mario Kart for the Wii, a gift from my friend David for helping him with design. The kids played with it in the evening while I was gone.

After I got back, they asked, “Mommy, can you play with us?”

So I did! I think it’s the first time I have played video games with them since… we lived in Union City? 2 years ago? More than 2 years ago? Not sure.

But it was fun! Albert got frustrated with the game and gave up. He said, “There’s no thinking involved!”

I said, “That’s exactly why I like it!” All reflexes. My type of game.

Afterwards, Daniel said, “Thanks for playing with us, Mommy.” Such a great kid — so affirming and appreciative! Even though I picked Baby Peach as my character because she was cute and I picked the pink bullet car because it was cute. The others picked things based on how powerful or useful they would be. I just picked them because they looked cute.

I guess I will never be a great video game player!
