July 4th bbq

Today we went over to our friend Keith’s house for a bbq to celebrate the 4th of July. It was a very low-key bbq, totally relaxing and casual and hanging out time — it was great!

Our friends Glen and Karen did the lion share of food prep (and actually organized the whole thing), with us contributing a cheesecake (made by our budding cook son, Daniel), and bread.

The kids did a lot of swimming and Nintendoing, while the adults talked and ate Christmas/Easter/ normal-colored m&ms. (Bought on sale after the holidays!)

My sister and her family came, so I got my baby fix with my little nephew! Albert held him for a little bit before handing him back over, and the whole time Steven entertained us by making “presents.” That sure must be one dirty diaper!

Here’s a picture of my wonderful husband! Notice the family resemblance in the dark, sprouty hair!

And here we are, with Steven deciding to sample a taste of Albert’s shirt.

It was a great time hanging out. I appreciate our new friends and that family lives so close by so we can see them often. God has really blessed us!

Great pics! 🙂 Thanks for inviting us to go over – it was great not to cook and fun to hang out!
