I am very proud of my engineer husband. He has been working for a company that makes artificial hearts. Unfortunately, they discovered that the hearts had a defective cable, so Albert designed a new one. It was talked about in an article today!
Since links tend to disappear, here’s a screenshot of the article for posterity’s sake. Albert’s project (the “strengthened wire”) is mentioned on the third paragraph. Only one has failed so far… and it was due to a manufacturing error, not to his design.
It’s so cool that Albert is in the profession of saving people’s lives!
