Like mother, like daughter

So I have written numerous posts about how absent-minded and somewhat oblivious I am. Perhaps it is a genetic predisposition.

Tonight we went to a Vietnamese restaurant for dinner. Our friends Rob and Tanya joined us. They were the only non-Asians in the restaurant. I didn’t even notice, although I did notice a number of Asians in the restaurant

After dinner, we were driving.

Me: That food was so good. You know it’s good because there were so many Asians in there.

Daniel: The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that there were only Asians.

Albert: Rob and Tanya noticed they were the only non-Asians.

Me: Really? I didn’t notice.

Megan: The first thing I noticed when I walked in was… (big pause) … nothing.

That’s my daughter!
