Albert helped me install wordpress on our server, which allowed me to download a template and customize it. It was fun to learn how to use the template, though there was a little bit of a headache since the template came with no instructions!
I had to look up how to alter php code and html and fun stuff like that. It’s kind of hard to change a template when there are no instructions. I spent a lot of time searching Google and Rockettheme’s forum for help. But it has now launched and is in pretty good shape!
There’s still one more box to be added at the top of my page because I will be starting yet another blog (as if I don’t already have enough)…. but I’ll talk about that once I do it.
I’m just planning to rotate through the blogs and post as I can. I’m discovering that blogging is very therapeutic for me and the best form of relaxation I have found so far! (Besides relaxing with my family, of course!)
Using WordPress.org (which allows you to download the functionality to your own server) is awesome — there is so much I can do in terms of customization and adding user-friendliness.
It’s fun learning all this stuff!
