A creative solution to lack of upper body strength

God has given me some abilities, but upper body strength is not one of them. In fact, I am pretty much wimpy when it comes down to it. Over the years I’ve tried to do upper body exercises but I have weak wrists and an injured shoulder and start experiencing pain… so I quit. Repeat cycle.

This has been a problem when playing drums. The guy drummers are super strong and tighten those nuts and bolts so I can’t even budge them.

Fortunately, my mechanical engineer husband came up with a solution and bought me a wrench about 5 years ago. I haven’t had a problem since.

Today Albert went with Megan to fix her school locker. It was so tight that we had a hard time turning the lock and could only open it once. He brought along a trusty can of WD-40. But after struggling, Megan couldn’t open it at all. (She’s even shorter than me and quite petite in build.) And Albert had a difficult time as well.

Not to worry! Albert got her a wrench. Voila! So easy to open now!

Like mother, like daughter! Sure is nice to have a clever husband!

That would be hilarious if some custodian walked by and saw Megan opening her locker with a wrench! Ha ha. Wonder what they would think.
