Welcome to Faith Action Steps!

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.

– 1 Cor 3:6

Spiritual growth happens because of a partnership. Human action, along with the work of the Holy Spirit, causes a growth in our faith. Although God could easily cause us to grow without our doing anything, for some reason, He has chosen to cause growth through both His work and our obedience.

But sometimes we get stuck and it’s tough to know what to do!

Faith Action Steps takes a practical approach to spiritual growth, knowing that everyone is at a different place in their spiritual journey. Each post suggests action steps to take to spur on growth in your faith journey.

Although different people will find some areas more challenging than others, steps are grouped generally under three levels of difficulty:

Beginning steps that are of a more basic level, appropriate for beginning believers or those seeking to learn more about Christ. Depending on the topic, the crawl topic might not necessarily be very easy, but is at an easier level than the other two suggestions.

An intermediate step, which is more challenging than “crawl.” Appropriate to those who have established a foundation in the Christian faith.

The most difficult challenge of the three, geared towards those who have been believers and who have grown in their faith and are looking for the next challenge.

This site is meant to be a resource and encouragement for those seeking to grow closer to Christ. These items are not meant to be a “to-do” list or to incite guilt, but to encourage a greater love and devotion to our Lord.

Disclaimer: I’m not a Greek Bible scholar or a person who has it all together. Most of these posts will be about mistakes I’ve made and stuff I’m learning along the way. My hope is that this site will be a way for us to encourage each other along the way as we journey closer to Christ. Please feel free to comment with any further ideas and share your stories of what has helped you!
