So excited! (Nines conference)

Today I was very surprised when I received an email that my video has been accepted for The Nines conference!

Being a conference junkie and always having the desire to learn, I heard about this Christian leadership conference. It has a fantastic lineup of so many Christian leaders that I respect and learn from (at a distance, of course!): Wayne Cordiero, Steven Furtick, Francis Chan, Rick Warren, etc. It’s entirely online. And the most amazing thing about it is that it is FREE!

It’s an interesting concept. Each speaker talks for 6 minutes about the biggest game changer for them in ministry. What a great way to learn from years and years of experience!

So I registered for it.

Then I noticed on there that they were leaving a few slots open. They said, “Submit a video” and said they were welcoming self-submitted videos and that they might pick the best ones to show during the conference.

I felt a nudge in my spirit to do a video. But man, it was agonizing. I prayed and prayed over it and came up with so many ideas that I think there was enough stuff for 6 hour-long workshops! I went back and forth from one idea to the next. I gave up and started and gave up and started. My workshops always have a ton of content. It sure was hard to pare down a simple message into 6 minutes!

But thanks to encouragement from friends, I did a video and posted it and didn’t expect to hear anything again. So it’s been such a huge surprise!

Making the video was actually fun. It’s called “The Focus Funnel” and talks about how leaders have a million things to do and how to get focused and get things done. (And yes, there are diagrams in it.) But I’m actually looking forward to hearing from everyone else because I always love to learn!

So that’s the celebration today… yay, God!
