A little boy’s blessing

Albert and I went to church tonight. It was amazing that we got there half an hour early and the place was already one-third full. People get there early and really get into the worship!

Since we got there a bit early, we sat there waiting. Then a little boy came up, holding a small vase of flowers.

He was so cute, probably only 3 or 4 years old. The lady with him said, “Who do you want to give the flowers to?”

The boy looked at me with big eyes and came towards me with the flowers. I thanked him for them and he stood there looking at me.

The lady picked up her box, which had another vase and said to the boy, “Who do you want to give these last flowers to?”

The boy stood there looking at me and gave me the other vase of flowers.

I said, “Thank you so much! But I already have these flowers. Do you want to give these to another person?”

The boy nodded and took the flowers back and they went down the aisle.

A few minutes later, he was back and handed me the flowers again. The lady said to me, “He really wants to give them to you!”

It turns out that they were blessed to get a house, and so they were giving away the flowers from their yard as a thanks to God. Wow!

I was so blessed by such beautiful and unexpected gifts. They were a reminder of God’s grace and gifts to us. Though we don’t do anything to deserve it, out of his grace he gives us his gifts of blessings. Then when we think that those blessings are so wonderful, he showers us with even more!

And that cute, innocent little boy was a blessing himself!
