The life of Joe, written in a drug-induced haze

I am currently taking some medication to help with healing and sleep and since yesterday was my first Sunday back to work, my morning routine got messed up. As a result I forgot my meds and today I felt very dizzy and woozy and not so great.

This was a fairly common occurrence this summer, and so I have had lots of time to lie there and think. When this happens, I typically:

1. Pray

2. Meditate on the Bible

3. Think of new ways to get organized.

Today I did #2, and this is the result. However, since my head was feeling disconnected from my body, I make no guarantees as to the quality.

So here is a new look at the life of Joseph from the book of Genesis:

Joe’s clothes are really colorful,

Thanks to a dad who thinks he’s wonderful.

Joe’s bros are fully grown men,

Really hate Joe and plot his end,

Joe goes, all chained and bound

So far from home, he’ll never be found.

Joe’s woes are full through the years —

A slave, in jail, there’s sweat and tears.

Joe’s lows seem to have no end;

He’s forgotten soon by jailbird friends.

Joe grows in faith and fame;

The king of Egypt now knows his name.

Joe’s foes show up at last;

His bros are sorry for their shady past.

Joe knows that God is great,

That things that happen are more than fate.

    I think this poem is pretty cool. You can try more and I think we’ll take all.
