More birthdays

This past week we have done a lot of celebrating!

Daniel turned 17… and then we had a dinner where we celebrated 3 birthdays and 2 anniversaries.

Per our tradition, Daniel got to choose what to eat for dinner. He chose steak. Albert made the most delicious steak I have ever had (even though the picture doesn’t look so good because of the funky lighting in our house). He also made garlic mashed potatoes and I made a salad.

It was sooooooo good.

We actually didn’t get Daniel a present because we didn’t know what to get him. He said he didn’t want anything and wouldn’t even know what to get himself for his birthday. (He is the most non-materialistic person I know!)

But he said he would be happy if we washed dishes for him as a birthday present. This was agreeable because he had friends over in the evening.

There sure were a lot of dishes… Pretty smart kid, I say.

Then yesterday, we went out to lunch with Albert’s parents, to celebrate Albert’s birthday, Megan’s birthday, Daniel’s birthday, our anniversary and Mom and Dad’s anniversary — all within 30 days!

We went to an Italian restaurant and had yummy appetizers — fried calamari and beef carpaccio. (Which is raw. Delicious. Don’t judge.)

It was a bit funny that Albert, Dad, Mom, and Daniel all ordered the same seafood dish.

My favorite was the dessert — almond custard! I love almond flavor.

Thus endeth our stomach-centric month of celebrations.
