Chef son

The other week our church had a newcomer’s bbq. The people who have helped cook in the past were not available. So I recruited my son!

Daniel likes to cook and we dragged his friend Timmy along too. Daniel and Timmy were entirely in charge of the bbq by themselves.

They did great!

And then, being teenage boys, they took up the dare when Glen challenged them to eat multiple patties.

I won’t tell you how much they ended up eating, but they didn’t feel so good afterwards.

Today Daniel decided to make pancakes. He said to me, “Would you like to be my sous chef?”

I said, “Sure.”

Then I spent the next 30 minutes standing around crocheting while Daniel did all the cooking. He really just wanted company.

I could get used to having my son do all the cooking!

(P.S. The pancakes were delicious. We gobbled them all down as soon as he was done cooking.)

Hey, call me next time Daniel cooks pancakes. I promise I won’t eat so much that deprives the rest of you any share!

Ok — maybe next time we will have pancakes for dinner! 🙂

That sounds good. Let me know ahead of time when that happens, so that I can prepare some fruit at least.
