First crocheted garment

I made my first crocheted garment — a shrug for Megan.

This garment was made out of Universal Yarns Nazli Gelin Crochet Cotton (color 700-43). The pattern was from Interweave Crochet magazine, Summer 2010.

The one in the magazine looks a lot more fitted and even though I checked my guage it came out a little loose. Ah well, Megan likes it — that’s what matters!

What I really liked about this project was that because it was fine thread (as opposed to thicker yarn), it was not very bulky, and I could stuff it in my purse and cart it around and work on it whenever I was waiting for someone.

I got myself some aqua green-blue yarn (my favorite color) and am in the process of making one for myself so that Megan and I will be matching some day!

(This project was completed Feb 26, 2012.)

Too cool! I wish I could crochet, but it’s just too floppy for me.
