Easter candles

It’s been so busy that I totally forgot to write about Easter! (Way back on April 8th… feels like ages ago.) Yikes!

The Creative Team planned the Easter services, which had the theme of barriers to faith. After weeks and weeks and weeks of brainstorming without being able to make a decision, it finally came down to the wire.

We ended up going with a candle experience, as a step of faith for those who wanted the light of Jesus to overcome their barriers to faith.

During service, people were invited to come forward and light a candle as a prayer.

Lines of people streamed forward.

Later we heard a story of one person who had been anti-church but was so moved by the services that the couple came back the next day to attend the service again. That person is now in a Bible study learning more about what it means to follow Jesus.

A big thanks to David Cripe, who put these awesome bleachers together, Glen, who did a lot of the painting, Sabrina, who helped with many details, the Creative Team, who worked on various elements of the service, and Wendy, who cleaned up everything because we were exhausted afterwards!
