Tonight Megan and I went to the Women of Faith conference in Sacramento. The venue was Sleep Train Arena, former known as Power Balance Arena and before that known as Arco Arena. It’s a bit confusing — The freeway sign says “Arco Arena,” the signage on the building says “Power Balance Arena” and the tickets say “Sleep Train Arena.”
Megan has never been to a Women of Faith conference. I used to go every year until about 8 or 10 years ago when they moved locations and I haven’t gone since. Today we received two free tickets for us to attend.
This is the view from our seat. We were in the second row from the top. (But hey, it was free! Can’t complain. :-))
The opening song with ballet was really beautiful. Ken Davis (a comedian) was the opening speaker. I totally loved it. Laughed so much!! We also heard CeCe Winans, who did a mini concert. Amazing voice. Awesome to hear all these women in the stadium singing worship songs to Jesus.
I also love how my little camera could zoom in and get details from the stage! Pretty amazing for such a small package.
Megan and I had a great time together. It’s very special for me to go out and do something just with my daughter. We had good talks going both directions too.
We left early because Megan was not feeling too good. Unfortunately, we will not be going back tomorrow. Megan has had an overloaded week and I’m still not back to 100%… Though better, I get tired too easily and need to conserve energy since Sunday is a work day. The past few days I have averaged about 6 or 6.5 hours a night, much of it not very restful… my body just won’t sleep any more and then it’s tired all the time.
So it’s a bummer to miss the conference, but also I think a good decision for my health. I’ve enjoyed Women of Faith for years — it’s always a quality conference and super inspiring, fun, and touching. I’m sure many women will be blessed this weekend in their time there.
