On different pages

There are times when my husband and I are not quite on the same page…

Today, while driving on the freeway:

Albert: There’s a bright red truck behind us.

Angela: (Looks in the rear mirror.) That doesn’t look like a truck. It’s looks like a car. It’s so short.

Albert: It’s been lowered.

Angela: Ohhhh. Why would someone want to lower a truck?

Albert: Many reasons. One is that it looks more sporty. Another is because it takes turns faster and better.

Angela: How about so that you can get into the truck more easily?

Albert: (gives Angela a look) No. If someone is going to lower his truck, he is not going to do it so he can get into it more easily.

Angela: (shrugs) Well, that’s the first thing that occurred to me.

(Actually, it was the only reason that occurred to me.)

Tonight, as Albert and I bundled up to go out and take a walk late at night, Daniel and his friends were hanging out in the living room:

Daniel’s friend: Have a good walk. Well, I am assuming you are going on a walk because you are going out on foot and there’s not much close by to walk to late at night around here.

Albert: Well, what you don’t know is that we’re out to do a drug deal. You know, a pastor… going out and has a couple keys…

Angela: (puzzled) Keys? What keys?

Albert: Kis… as in kilograms.

Angela: Oh. I never heard of that before.

Albert: My family. Such newbs.

(Newb is slang for newbie, someone who is new to something.) Apparently, my husband and I are on different wavelengths when it comes to particular topics. 🙂
