Fall trees

In the midst of busy seasons, it is good to pause and appreciate the beauty God has put around us to remind us of Him.

The other week during my busy month I came out of the church and noticed the beautiful fall trees. We don’t see this much around Davis. Most of the time the trees tend to turn into a murky brown/golden color. But this particular week (probably due to sharp temperature fluctuations?) the trees were gorgeous! One was a beautiful golden yellow color.

There were some other trees that were harbingers of the Christmas season — both red and green!

I am not a plant expert so perhaps someone else can fill me in on why one tree has only the outside leaves turning red. All I know is I enjoyed the beauty in everyday life and thanked God for his wonderful creation.

The top tree is a Chinese pistache, my favorite fall tree. There are actually TONS of them around Davis — especially on our street, along the 113 freeway, and various parks! I love them so much that we planted one in our front yard. They are gorgeous trees – red, orange, fading into yellow leaves! I like the bottom tree, too, but I don’t know what that one is called.
