Well, it certainly has been a while since I have posted! Over a month! It’s been kind of a crazy month. I’ll write more in detail later, but here’s a quick recap:
Most of the month was spent prepping for our Breakaway summer day camp/VBS… 480 kids plus over 300 volunteers participated. It was a blast!
Meanwhile, Megan was throwing up for 11 days straight and went to many doctors and had many tests. In the end we discovered she had been dehydrated and her nausea was a result. She’s been drinking lots of water and is doing better, though she is down to 86 pounds because she has not felt well for a long time. 🙁 We praise God it was nothing serious!
Daniel also found a new job as a math tutor so he has been adjusting to that.
Albert made a whole semester’s worth of videos lectures for his class… he’s been busy cranking stuff out!
I’ve been taking a design class (Construction Documents) that I was told would be 10-13 hours of work. Instead, it has been over 20+ hours of work a week because it requires a ton of hand drafting. There are also lectures, quizzes, and forum posts. I’m really enjoying it but it is really intense. Every week is compressed into 3 days, and every week’s lesson (3 days worth) has anywhere from 2-4 project assignments. This snapshot is just one out of 2 assignments for one week. (Centimeter ruler on the left for scale.)
Meanwhile I am also taking a seminary class on fellowship, which is reading lectures, watching videos, doing homework/writing papers, writing posts, and taking quizzes.
Also, I have been taking a ton of pictures for Breakaway, homework, family stuff, etc. My hard drive went from 100 GB of free space two weeks ago to now 32.3 GB free. That’s a lot of files and photos that were recently added!
Today is Albert and my 22nd anniversary! We celebrated on Thursday but I will post later about it. There are so many things to write about… just haven’t had any time. I’m on day 3 of my vacation and have been doing homework with a little time to relax, but my class finishes up next week so I should have time then.
And exciting news… my sister had a new baby! Baby Xavier has entered the world! I’m so bummed I can’t visit right now. Need to figure out how to travel while taking a class that ties me to a drafting desk, as I am taking another class this fall in preparation to submit a portfolio for a master’s degree! (I have heard that some students literally travel with their drawing board and t-square!)
I look forward to writing soon!
Here’s another poll, just for fun!
