Odd food

Last month, while food shopping, we came upon some unusual food.

The first one. What’s this? Fruit? A gemstone? I had never seen this before. It was at Nugget!

Turns out it is a kind of cheese. Never heard of this before.

Then at Ranch 99… look at the size of these babies! In the back, no, those are not miniature-sized watermelons. To give you a sense of scale of these monster fruit in front, the watermelon behind them are normal-sized.

It’s called jackfruit. I had seen pictures of it in Africa before, but this was my first time seeing new ones. No idea what it tastes like. Interestingly, I looked online and saw that when it is unripe it tastes like chicken, and when it is ripe it tastes sweet, a cross between banana and pineapple.

God makes all sorts of interesting creations!
